Suspicious Fire
February 16, 2017

The Comal County Fire Marshal`s Office and Comal County Crime Stoppers are seeking tips from the public following a suspicious fire inside an abandoned home in the 1100 block of Kruger Canyon Road. The fire was reported around 7am Saturday morning (02-11-17) and the building was a complete loss. The home and the area around it has also been the site of some recent illegal dumping, so vehicles may have been seen going in and out of the area.

Anyone with information about the cause of this fire or the person(s) responsible could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.

The two suspects are described as African American males, both wearing face masks, one wearing sweat pants, and one wearing jeans.

Texas Game Wardens are attempting to identify an individual that may have been trespassing and possibly illegally hunting on private property in Spring Branch, Texas located on Spring Branch Road in western Comal County. Surveillance cameras located on the property were able to capture images of the person of interest. The alleged trespassing occurred around 9:30am on May 24th, 2016 and the incident has been under investigation by Texas Game Wardens since.

In an attempt to identify that person, Comal County Crime Stoppers is releasing some of those surveillance images. Anyone with information on the identity of the person is asked to contact Comal County Crime Stoppers. Information that successfully leads to a positive identification could earn the tipster a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Deadly Conduct
October 17, 2016

New Braunfels, Texas — On October 17, 2016, at approximately 01:19 AM, the New Braunfels Police Department was dispatched to Canyon High School at 1510 IH 35 North for an alarm call. Upon officer’s arrival, they found the alarm had been set off by a volley of gun shots being fired at the main office of the school building. There were several bullet holes found in the brick and through the windows of the school. The damage was estimated at approximately $3,500.

The Garden Ridge Police Department needs your help in identifying the subjects that were recently involved in a theft of wheels in the 22000 blk. of Cristobal Dr. within Georg Ranch subdivision between the hours of 5:30 pm on October 3, 2016, and 7:30 am on October 4, 2016. The unknown suspects used landscape rocks from a neighbor’s home to block up a 2015 Chevrolet truck and remove all four wheels.

The Comal County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Criminal Mischief/theft case in which there has been over $13,000 in damages. Since December 2015, unknown persons have been entering the Old Rahe Primary School in Bulverde and removing a large amount of copper wire, transformers, and metal fixtures from the property. It is believed that the suspect(s) is (are) using a vehicle capable of driving through wooded areas.

Aggravated Robbery
June 10, 2016

New Braunfels Police report that an 84-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, while walking near Walnut and IH-35.  Fortunately, the New Braunfels senior survived the attack without injury, and he was able to get in a lick on the robber, with his cane. Police officials report that at about 6:30am., the man was walking in the area of McDonald`s in the 1000 block of IH-35, when the suspect approached him on foot, pointed a black handgun at him, stole his wallet. The victim told Police he used his cane to strike the robber in the forehead, before the suspect fled. Officials report the suspect took off in the direction of the large drainage ditch that runs between the restaurant and nearby apartment buildings. The victim then went into the McDonald`s to ask someone to call 911. NBPD advises that officers, including K-9, searched the area, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.  Police are looking for a heavy-set, 20 to 30-year-old, white or Hispanic male, of average height, with a short haircut and no facial hair. The suspect was believed to be wearing a grey or light-blue t-shirt and blue-jeans, with a backpack.
